Tips for eating healthy while traveling?
With Thanksgiving coming up, my family and I are traveling and I need tips for choosing healthy options at restaurants. I am a huge health nut but the rest of my family kind of isn’t so I need tips for choosing the healthiest options at restaurants. Are salads the safest and healthiest option? Thank you so much for your much needed help!

Coach answers:
Salads are usually the healthiest option unless, of course, it is loaded with dressing and such. When you go to a restaurant, check out the kids’ menu and/or the side items. If you order from the kids’ menu, you can eat good food in smaller portions. The side items menu usually has veggies you may order in place of or in addition to your meal.

Whats some tips on eating healthy
not necessarily cutting out some junk foods all together but just things i don’t need to eat. I want to lose about 10 -15 pounds and remain at a good weight. can someone help?

Coach answers:
Very important – don’t drink your calories. They add on to your daily calorie total, they don’t replace calories from solid food. Stick with water and milk. Stay away from diet drinks, the artificial sweeteners will wreck havoc with your metabolism and you won’t lose any more weight than if you drank regular soda.
Otherwise limit your sugars and white flour type foods. Stick with the least processed foods you can, mainly by shopping the perimeter of the grocery store. That’s where the fruits, vegetables, fresh meat, and dairy are at.

Coach answers:
TRY THIS, and stick to it.
The first 3-4 weeks are the hardest until your body adjusts to the change.
Results will be in about the same time
Fruits and Veggies
Eat more plants and keep away from stuff that was made in plants.
Don’t eat anything that comes in a can, box or package….
…..THEY HAVE ADDITIVES IN THEM THAT MAKE YOU ADDICTED TO THE FOOD…..
If man made it, don’t eat it
NO white BREAD or SUGAR
Stay away from FAST FOOD
Walk your dog, or walk a friends dog
Don’t think of it as a diet, but think of it as a lifestyle change
Write down every thing you eat
Take a multi vitamin at night

healthy eating tips this summer?
I’m 5’4, 16 years old and 135lbs. I want to loose 10-20lbs this summer. I’m starting cross country preseason this monday. I really need help on staying on the healthy train. I will eat perfectly for a couple days but then fall down. I love sugar so its really hard to stay away from things like ice cream and cookies. Plus I am constantly out with my friends, going to parties, and eating out.
I try to eat healthy but I always end up caving and part of me wants to eat things like bagels and chips. Although I love fruits and veggies.
Any tips of how to avoid these foods and keep eating healthy. And keeping my portions small. I have gotten off my habit of binge eating but it seems like to loose weight you have to eat nothing.
I would really like to go back to school this fall feeling more confident, healthy, and skinny.

Coach answers:
You are not overweight, and you don’t need to lose 10 to 20 pounds. It sounds like you’re being active, which is great.
Because you’re not overweight and are active, you can indulge in bagels and cookies and chips and ice cream – just not all on the same day and not in huge portions! I would allow myself a one-a-day treat so that you don’t develop a big craving for these things and don’t overindulge.

I stopped eating healthy- tips to start again?
I used to be a health nut, but now, I don’t when the last time I had a salad was.
I’m horribly addicted to junk food. Cookies, ice cream, cheeze-its, sweet cereals. After a while I stopped eating the healthy foods because I cut some slack on my sugar intake, so I no longer wanted the healthy stuff- I craved only sugar.
Now I’ve been sick for 5 days, and I feel awful. But I’ve eaten nothing but carby/sugary foods since I got sick (its not a stomach flu, more achy and headache) because other things sound too bland. I am too lightheaded and tired to exercise. I’ve gained weight from eating so badly now…I wish I could eat healthy again, but healthy foods just no longer appeal to me.
any tips on how to get off the junk food and start good again?
(By the way, I’m 15, so I can’t run out to the store or anything…I can help make a grocery list for my mom, though.)

Coach answers:
Cut out the junk and start with the veggies. It’ll take awhile to get over the lack of sugar, but the reason you feel like crap is because you’re putting crap into your body.
